Tsutomu Ema (1884-1979) : A historian of manners and customs, Emeritus Professor of Kyoto Women's University, Director of the Honorary Museum of Costume Museum.
Born in Kyoto.
Graduated from the Department of History, Kyoto Imperial University College of Letters.
Developed the Yusoku kojitsu as a history of manners and customs.
Also active as a historical historian of movies, television and Jidai Matsuri, including Genroku Chushingura 『 』 Ema Kenji Mizoguchi
