The third axis is the E10 tank locomotive. It was manufactured for use on the Itaya Pass in Ou Main Line.
Although there was a plan to electrify the Ou Main Line, it was later completed due to a lack of materials. Therefore, five E10 locomotives were manufactured for use on the Type 4110.
After the Ou Main Line was electrified and opened, it was transferred to the Hitoyoshi Engine Depot in Hisatsu Line and the Kanazawa Engine Depot in Hokuriku Main Line. Finally, it was used for small operation between Tamura and Maibara at the Maibara Engine Depot in Hokuriku Main Line. All the locomotives were scrapped in 1960.
